Self-Improvement
September · Word of the Month
This month we are learning about SELF-IMPROVEMENT! Self-improvement means practicing to get better at something, and taking care of our bodies with healthy food and exercise.
🌱 What is self-improvement?
Self-improvement means noticing something we want to get better at, and practicing it. It also includes taking care of our bodies — eating healthy foods and getting exercise helps us grow strong for Taekwondo!
📖 Examples of self-improvement for this age
- ●Practicing a kick until it gets easier
- ●Eating a healthy food like fruits or vegetables
- ●Running and playing outside
- ●Trying a little harder each time
💬 Try asking your child
- ●What are you practicing to get better at?
- ●What is your favorite way to exercise?
- ●What is a healthy food that helps your body grow strong?
💡 Try This At Home
Make healthy food and movement a normal, cheerful part of conversation — "This helps your body grow strong for kicks!" — rather than a rule, so it feels like part of training, not a chore.
"I practice, I grow, I get stronger!" Name one healthy food you'll eat together this week.
