Confidence
March · Word of the Month
This month we are learning about CONFIDENCE! Confidence is the "I can try" feeling. Every time your child practices a stance until it feels strong, or tries a new kick in front of the class, they are building confidence.
🥋 What is confidence?
Confidence isn't about always winning or getting it perfect. It's the sure feeling that comes from practicing something again and again until it starts to feel steady. The more your child tries, the more confident they become — even if they don't get it right the first time.
📖 Examples of confidence for this age
- ●Trying a new kick in front of the class
- ●Raising a hand even when unsure of the answer
- ●Saying hello to someone new
- ●Showing a grown-up something they made or practiced
💬 Try asking your child
- ●What is something you feel proud of?
- ●What helps you feel brave when you try something new?
- ●What is something that felt scary at first but doesn't anymore?
💡 Try This At Home
Cheer loudly for effort, not just success — "You tried your best stance, even though it was new!" Confidence grows from being celebrated for trying, not just for getting it perfect.
"I believe in myself!" Say it together standing tall in your best stance.
