Friendship
July · Word of the Month
This month we are learning about FRIENDSHIP! Friendship means caring about someone, sharing, and being kind. Cheering for a classmate in class is a wonderful example of friendship in action.
🤝 What is friendship?
A friend is someone who plays with you, shares with you, and is kind to you. Being a good friend means doing those same things back — sharing, helping, and cheering each other on.
📖 Examples of friendship for this age
- ●Sharing a toy with a friend
- ●Cheering for a classmate
- ●Helping a friend who is sad
- ●Inviting someone new to play
💬 Try asking your child
- ●Who is your friend, and what do you like to do together?
- ●How can you help a friend who is sad?
- ●What makes someone a good friend?
💡 Try This At Home
Narrate friendship skills as you see them: "You shared your toy — that was a kind, friendly thing to do!" Naming the behavior helps your child understand exactly what "being a good friend" looks like in practice.
"Good friends share and care!" Talk about one way to be a good friend today.
